Corinthians retain Glynn Cup

Corinthians RFC retained the annual Glynn Cup and Langan Trophy at the annual festival of rugby held in conjunction Galwegians.

Ten sides from u-13 to seniors did battle over the day at Cloonacaueen, but it was the underage sides that took centre stage with some 800 players in action.

The home outfit was on top in the u-13A and B sections, while Wegians 16s clawed a point back. Corinthians 14s and 17s won later in the afternoon, but the Dublin Road outfit turned over the home side in the 15s and thirds to ensure the title was still up for grabs by the afternoon.

Corinthians Ladies did the business later on and the home side finished off the day with a fine win by 26-5. With Corinthians youngsters also contributing another point, it was enough for the home side to retain both trophies for the third year in a row.

The trophies were presented by Adrian Glynn and Vivien Langan.
