London Fashion Week

Oh, it is my favourite time of the year, when I am perched on a stool at a high table in the press room at London Fashion Week. The atmosphere is electric, the stars are in the front row, and the bloggers (including me ) have their cameras at the ready to take shots of the best fashion on show, both on and off the catwalk. More so than ever, next season’s offerings are something to get excited about, with some key trends being clear from the get go. I have had my favourites, and so here is all you need to know.

Zoe Jordan

Daughter of Formula One mogul Eddie, Zoe Jordan opened London Fashion Week on Friday to a very warm welcome from the watching press. A wearable and sophisticated collection, Zoe knows what women want, from beautiful tailored suits to oversized houndstooth style coats and splashes of orange and pink to brighten up the dark shades.

Felder Felder

The duo whom the fashion world adores. I sat at the end of the catwalk on the floor so I had the best view in the house for this collection, and I was so glad I did. From cherry reds to sweet apricot, the colour palette was truly eyecatching. Some of my favourite pieces included a black dress with swing skirt and a full length green velvet coat dress. I also got to watch the dress rehearsal, which was a real pleasure to see the designers get so excited to show their year’s work.

Fydor Golan

A newbie to the world of fashion, this collection was a stand out for me. Breaking boundaries with shape and design, these designers’ outfits had me smitten. The most distinctive look was a short printed mini dress with sheer panels at the front, not for the faint hearted, but this will definitely be seen on a red carpet in the not too distant future.

Rihanna

Yes, the latest designer to hit LFW. Rihanna has teamed up with River Island to launch an edgy new collection available from March 5. I was lucky enough to be at the launch and get a glimpse of the lady herself, who looked stunning in a piece from her collection. The installation was such an amazing showcase of what we can expect to see on the shop floors, including jersey dresses and printed jumpsuits, along with a small shoe collection. We partied until the early hours surrounded by celebs such as The Saturdays’ Mollie King and the cast of Made in Chelsea.

Topshop Unique

Opening with supermodel of the moment, Cara Delevingne, Topshop Unique really cannot get it wrong, especially when you can have nearly every celeb known to the fashion world in your front row, including Olivia Palermo, Kate Bosworth, and Daisy Lowe. Red is the key trend (berry red and not bright red exactly ) along with shiny fabrics like PVC, which Felder Felder and Burberry dabbled in as well.

Temperley

As with all collections, there is always something special about pieces which are more formal and Alice Temperley knows how to design those. White gowns with diamond embellishment, as well as a classic black, were the showstoppers of this collection. I chatted to Pixie Lott and Kate Nash after the show who both agreed with me that Alice can do no wrong.

My style

My own style throughout fashion week was made a lot easier thanks to A|wear, Stylistpick, and Buff Make up who kept me in check. I stuck with simple and tailored looks to keep it smart all week. My go-to pieces were a monochrome blazer, red skinny jeans, a black silk top, and plenty of statement necklaces.
