Marxism day school to be hosted in Galway

A day school in the revolutionary politics of Marxism takes place at the Imperial Hotel, Eyre Square this Saturday from 11am to 6pm.

A number of Irish academics will present lectures on various subjects such as the economy, the environment, and women’s rights.

The school begins at 11am with NUI Galway economist Brian O’Boyle delivering a lecture entitled The Crisis of Capitalism. At 12.30pm, John Molyneux, author and editor of the Irish Marxist Review, will speak on Marxism and the Climate Crisis.

Following a break for lunch the school resumes at 2.45pm with NUI Maynooth lecturer and pro-choice campaigner Sinéad Kennedy’s lecture The Fight for a Woman's Right to Choose. At 4.30pm the Galway born UCD sociologist and author of Ireland’s Economic Crash, Kieran Allen will speak on The Way Forward for the Left in Ireland.

The day school is hosted by the Galway branch of the Socialist Workers Party. All are welcome and admission is free.
