Regan relected

Tony Regan, who was been relected chairman of Rahoon Newcastle Hurling Club, has commended all teams from the juvenile and senior sections for all their efforts in training and competing over the year.

At the club’s annual general meeting on Sunday, Regan said the highlight of the past year was the City League Intermediate title win, while the Indoor Hurling Academy continued to be a success story, attracting 80 children a week during the winter.

Tony Regan, Martin Joe Flaherty and Lisa Regan were re-elected on the executive committee as chairman, treasurer and secretary/PRO respectively. Mattie O'Toole resumes his role as County Board delegate/pitch coordinator, while Ann and Seamus Griffin are again at the helm on the lotto committee. Càit ní Chathàin will take the role as Oifigeach Gaeilge with the club.

Under 14 hurling

U-14 hurling training will start on Sunday January 27 at 12 noon at the Rahoon Newcastle pitch in Tonabrucky and will then run on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6pm - venue to be decided. The club advises youngsters to bring a helmet and hurl.
