South Galway GAA club Kinvara is running a monster auction on Sunday in the Kinvara Community Centre at 2pm to help raise funds for its new pitch development.
The club recently announced its new three year development plan which includes a second pitch, an astroturf area with ball wall, a training ground, and a walking/jogging path.
The current facilities are not adequate for the growing membership which now numbers more than 400 players at all levels in hurling, football and camogie. For the first time in its history Kinvara fielded five adult teams in hurling this year, while at juvenile hurling and football the club caters for players from six to 16 and likewise in the camogie club.
Phase one of the development is the purchase of the required ground, and to help with the funding the club is hosting a monster auction on Sunday, with viewing from 12 noon to 1pm on the day. A wide range of products will go under the hammer from furniture to farm. A list of the goods will be available beforehand on the club website www.kinvara.galway.gaa.ie
