Ballinasloe seek first Connacht junior final

This Saturday in Kiltoom (2pm ) the footballers of Ballinasloe will hope to write some new history for the famed club when they take on Oran in the Connacht junior football final.

Ballinasloe football has been toiling away on fallow ground for the past few years and it would be great to see the club annex a provincial title this weekend.

Ballinasloe had a hard-fought win over the Neale last weekend in Duggan Park to qualify for this final. It was tough going, but they eventually advanced by 2-6 to 0-9.

In the final this Saturday, the St Grellan’s lads will look to the likes of team captain Keith Kelly, former county minor star James Shaughnessy, Liam Lynch, Paul Whelehan, Declan Nevin, Luke Tierney and Padraig Cunningham to lead the way.

Based on their performances over the past few weeks, it is well within their capabilities to win the club's first Connacht Junior title.
