TULCA, GALWAY’S festival of visual arts returns from November 9 to 23 bringing 41 Irish and international artists together for exhibitions, talks, tours, and workshops in the city and county.
This year’s festival theme is ‘What Became Of The People We Used To Be?’ and will examine the natural, urban, and psychological landscapes of post Celtic Tiger-Ireland.
TULCA 2012 will open to the public on November 9 at 8pm in the Tulca Festival Gallery, Fairgreen Building, Fairgreen Road. Audiences can look forward to exhibitions of photography, performance, installations, painting, and video art, and a site specific public art installation at Inis Bearacháin in Connemara.
The festival will be curated by Gregory McCartney and a former director of the Context Gallery and is currently a member of the Void curatorial committee. He is also a freelance visual arts curator, poet, and archive co-ordinator.
