VAGABOND THEATRE will premiere two one-act plays from local writers during the Galway Theatre Festival.
The Butcher Molloy by Conor Montague and Hugging Thistles by Aideen Henry will be presented as a double bill at the Town Hall Theatre studio from Monday October 1 to Wednesday 3 at 8.30pm.
Former county hurler, Martin ‘The Butcher’ Molloy, is defined by courage, weakened by loss, haunted by failure. Confrontation with old friend, Ollie Keating, inspires a journey into the dark recesses of consciousness in search of acceptance, forgiveness and a new beginning. The play stars John Donnellan, Conor Montague and Ciara Brady, and is directed by Dara Ó Foglú.
Through the character of Therese, Hugging Thistles asks when is a marriage over? How bad does it have to get? We all compromise in relationships to make them work. How much is too much? The play stars Neasa ni Chuanaigh and Gerry Howard and is directed by Liam Harkin.
Established in 2010, Vagabond Theatre is best known for its productions of the comedy theatree series Who Needs Enemies?
