The Cannonball convoy is due to arrive in Galway city on Saturday as part of efforts to raise funds for the Laura Lynn House charity.
The convoy is predicted to be decorated with celebrity profiles occupying the 150 super cars that will line the streets at 6pm. Patrons can expect to see cars brandishing some of the most widely acclaimed car brands such as McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley streaming onto Shop Street and the Latin Quarter under the supervision of a Garda escort.
The CANNONBALL festival is only in its infancy as it approaches its fourth year and has already accumulated more than a quarter of a million euro for children’s charities. Street festivals are being organised throughout Ireland to commemorate this hallmark event in the motor enthusiast’s calendar.
The convoy will descend on Galway with mighty aplomb and onlookers will relish the opportunity to see what celebrities will emerge this year. Rapper Bruno Mars, Boyzone’s Shane Lynch, Kathryn Thomas, TV3’s Elaine Crowley and Georgia Salpa are all keen Cannonballers..
