The new secondary school for Claregalway has begun to taking enrolments for September 2013 with enrolment forms being sent to parents.
Independent Galway West TD Noel Grealish has welcomed the news, however pupils will have to take classes in temporary accommodation until a site for the permanent school building has been identified.
Dep Grealish is now calling on the Galway County Council and the Department of Education to work together to try and identify a suitable site as soon as possible.
The school is on the Department of Education’s capital building projects list for construction in 2014/2015 and Dep Grealish said it is critical a suitable site be identified and the planning process commenced.
