TRIBES ALIVE is continuing its run in the Latin Quarter. The walking tour was launched last week by Failte Ireland and promises to be an exciting 70 minute dramatic walk through the winding medieval streets of Galway.
The tour takes participants back in time to the medieval era of the city’s history. It stops at nine landmarks, including the Spanish Arch, Blake’s Tower, Kirwan’s Lane, St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, and the Hall of The Red Earl.
“Visitors to Ireland genuinely want to interact with our heritage and learn about our stories, while also having a good time,” said the Minsiter of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring. “This unique type of tour will allow us to cater to the 21st century tourist. Based on local historical fact and humorous observation, it will bring to life great Galway stories, larger than life Galway characters, and famous Galway events,”
Writtten by Paraic Breathnach, directed by Rod Goodall, and featuring local actors, Tribes Alive will run twice a day, Monday to Friday until September 21. For more information see www.thelatinquarter.ie
