FANS OF the golden era of 90s dance, pop, and R’n’B are in for a treat as Smash Hits return to the stage at Upstairs@Halo on Friday August 24.
This entertaining six-piece from Dublin perform the best of classic 90s, including guilty pleasures like Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, and the Spice Girls. Fully kitted out in 90s’ outfits, Smash Hits’ energetic set will take you back to the feelgood days of the 20th century.
Since emerging in 2009, the band have sold out shows all over Ireland, as well as performing at Oxegen, Electric Picnic, and across Europe. They also appeared on the last ever episode of The Café on RTE 2. Listen out for hits like ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’ and ‘Ice Ice Baby’ which are sure to fill the dancefloor.
So dig out your parachute pants, frost the tips of your hair, line your lips, and head for Halo on Friday night. Doors open at 11pm. Admission is €5 and ladies are free before 12.30am, which allows patrons to move freely between the nightclub and the music venue upstairs.
