An alternative take on female singers

SINGERS AND artists featured on the all-female vocal compilation album Café Irlandaise will be on stage at the Róisín Dubh on Friday August 17 at 8pm.

Bona Fide Federation, Sí, Foxglove, and In Valour will perform. They will be joined at various stages of the tour by Odi, Sive, and Galway’s Laura Sheeran. Audiences can expect to hear electronica, alternative pop, baroque, ambient, experimental, and folk.

The 10-track Café Irlandaise compilation is available as a free download through www.cafeirlandaise.com Hot Press said the album “moves beyond the obvious...albums stand or fall on the quality of the music within. This one stands.” The Irish Independent declared: “This collection is about as far from A Woman’s Heart as you can get.” The Irish Times said: “There’s plenty of meaty substance among the 10 tracks.”

Tickets are €5 and available through www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
