People in Claregalway and Milltown can expect to enjoy better quality, cleaner, water following the securing of funds for sewerage schemes in the area.
This is the view of Fine Gael Galway West TD Brian Walsh who was speaking following the approval of €2.65 million in capital funding for the construction of the Claregalway and Milltown sewerage network.
The commitment of funding will allow the Galway County Council to complete contract formalities with the successful tenderer so that work can commence on the project as soon as possible.
The project is being funded under the Department’s Water Services Investment Programme 2010-2013.
“This funding will pave the way for work to begin as soon as possible,” said Dep Walsh. “It will also put in place necessary infrastructure to facilitate new development and provide additional capacity to support economic and demographic growth.”
