BLUES-ROCK band Strange Brew, whose members hail from Ireland, Poland, Gibraltar, and England, play Monroe’s Backstage Bar on Thursday August 9.
Lead vocalist, Romek was born in Gdansk and toured Poland with various jazz, swing, soul, and blues groups, including the Mietek Blues Band, with whom he recorded several albums. Guitarist Simon is from London and is a former member of r’n’b band Mojo Chill’n.
Roscommon native and drummer Gary has played in several bands including The Fridge and alternative rock band Sinnuendo. Astrid was born in Gibraltar but moved to England in the 1970s. She taught herself to play ukulele aged 10 and was also in Mojo Chill’n.
