The Volkswagen Golf van is back

Volkswagen has just reintroduced the Golf van to the Irish market, having won the Continental Irish Car Derived Van of the Year 2011 in November 2010.

It is based on the hugely-popular Mark VI Golf three-door passenger car and has more than 1,300-litres of load carrying capacity in the rear.

The Golf van features the 1.6-litre 90bhp TDI engine, offering outstanding fuel economy of 4.5 l/100km on the combined cycle, thus keeping running costs as low as possible.

The van version of the current Golf is expected to prove popular with small business users, features creature comforts such as ‘climatic’ air conditioning, leather-covered steering wheel, and an auxillary input for MP3 connection.

Subject to €200 VRT, the Golf vw

an is priced at €16,290 excluding VAT or €19,990 including VAT. The Golf van is available from any Volkswagen passenger car retailer immediately.

“It is great to be able to offer the Golf van in the Irish market once again,” said John Donegan, sales and marketing manager for Volkswagen Ireland. “We know that there is a strong demand for this vehicle from small business users as it offers the best of both worlds, namely the comfort and quality of a Golf, with the load carrying capacity of a light commercial vehicle.”
