An information week for drivers with disabilities is taking place in Galway this week (July 9 to 13 ).
Hosted by Skoda dealership, Monaghan & Sons, the open week is open to all drivers with disabilities and drivers on the Disabled Passengers Scheme.
In addition to passenger vehicles, some emergency vehicles, a fire brigade Yeti and an ambulance Superb will also be on display.
The open week is due to recent changes in the legislation of both the disabled drivers and disabled passengers’ scheme, and staff will discuss these recent legislative changes, answer question,s and speak to individuals with specific requirements. The showroom will be open from 9am to 6pm all week.
The dealership will be displaying a range of Skoda vehicles suited to adaptations for the disabled drivers and passengers scheme. These include wheelchair lifting and storage facilities and seating conversions.
Visitors to the dealership can see a Superb Combi with up to €15,000 worth of adaptations, including a swivel base using original Skoda seat to passenger side, an electric swivel base using comfort seat to driver’s side and an easi-off handbrake release bar.
