IT IS not often that where the word “unstable” is used to describe someone this is actually a compliment, but in the case of Terry Alderton, it is.
British comic Terry Alderton plays the Róisín Dubh next Wednesday at 8.30pm as part of the Galway Arts Festival.
In a review of one of his shows, The Guardian described his act as “an unusual mix of traditional club comic and experimentalist, Alderton alights at observational humour only to mock it...Elsewhere, it’s all silly dancing, loopy audience interaction and microphone-mauling vocal effects: Alderton does a mean Formula One soundscape, where the facial expressions out-funny the spot-on noises...Alderton at his best is unstable and deliciously unexpected.”
Terry has been Perrier nominated in Edinburgh and recently won the 3 Weeks Critics award as well as Best International Act at the New Zealand Comedy Festival. He has worked with Joan Rivers and Eddie Izzard proclaimed him a “very funny comic with a fantastic comedy mind”.
