Mervue United appoints Neary

Experienced football coach Justin Neary has been appointed to oversea Mervue United’s Airtricity u- 19 team for the coming season.

Neary, who holds a UEFA coaching licence, has 20 years experience coaching underage level in Galway and has guided several teams to national success in that time.

He will be assisted by Colin Nolan, with whom he has worked for the past two seasons at Mervue and former Galway United player Ollie Neary.

Mervue will compete in the southern section of the u-19 league.

An open evening will be held on Wednesday July 11 at Fahy’s Field, Mervue at 7pm for players born on or after January 1, 1994.

The club has also appointed Gary O’Connor and Gerard McGrath as the new management team of the club’s junior A squad for next season’s Galway District League. The club has won the Brod Trill premier division title for the past two season.

The Junior A team will resume training in preparation on Thursday July 12 at 6pm at Fahy’s Field.

The club has also re-appointed Martin Higgins as the manager of the club’s junior B team which competes in the second division of the Galway District League.
