New Galwegian president

Colm O'Donnellan has been elected as president of Galwegians RFC for 2012-13 at the club's AGM at Crowley Park.

The well-known city auctioneer has been a member of Galwegians from an early age, having played at underage and senior level for many years before becoming involved as a coach and administrator at underage level.

O'Donnellan succeeds Noel Leader who enjoyed a successful year in office during which time the club won the All-Ireland Womens Cup, Connacht Senior League and Cup, Connacht Junior Cup and u-20 Cup.

Next season's incoming vice president is John Gaffney, another former player who spearheaded the highly successful revival of the club's youth academy over the previous decade.

The following office holders were re-elected at the Galwegians AGM: Chairman, Paul Shelly; Director of administration, Paddy Murphy; Director of rugby, Mick Casserly; Director of finance, Barry Casserly; Director of house and grounds, Dave Whiriskey; Director of youth academy, Greg Costello.
