Sunday at Pearse Stadium

2010 county champions Killererin will fancy their chances on Sunday when they take on Leitir Mór (3.45pm ) in Pearse Stadium. When they are all available, Stephen Flaherty’s side has got a fair bit of fire power up front, with the likes of Padraic Joyce, Micheal Boyle and Nicky Joyce. They can also call on Galway panellists Tomás Fahy and Colin Forde to shore things up at the back, alongside men like Declan Kelly and Daniel Mannion.

Leitir Mór survived an epic tussle last weekend with Kilkerrin/Clonberne and advanced after extra-time on a score-line of 2-18 to 2-15. Their goals came from Aintoine “Toto” Ó’ Griofa and Aonghus Ó Flatharta. They will also look to the Breathnach brothers (Fiachra and Ferdia ) to provide inspiration this Sunday.

That clash is followed by Carraroe and Kilconly (5.30pm ).

Both sides had good wins in their first round games, with Kilconly defeating Leitir Mór and An Cheathrú Rua seeing off Bearna. Kilconly will look to Adrian Murphy for inspiration up front and the lion-hearted Kevin Brady. The Carraroe manager Micheal Ó Maille, is without a lot of last year’s panel through emigration and this one is likely to go down to the wire.

(Moycullen take on Killanin in a relegation play-off at 2pm ).
