HALO’S NEW upstairs venue will host two gigs over two nights this weekend with Big September tonight and Hot Fuss tomorrow.
Wicklow indie rock quintet Big September played support to Ham Sandwich at Halo recently. The band have also toured with Royseven and Paddy Casey and will release an EP this summer.
Portumna quartet Hot Fuss - Mark O’Reilly (guitar ), Jonathan Fallon (lead guitar ), Paul Casey (bass ), and Brian Whelan (drums ) - provide an eclectic mix of covers of songs by Mumford and Sons, Kings of Leon, Oasis, Men at Work, and Bob Marley.
Tomorrow will also see Halo host Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2012 competition. The winner will receive the Irish Spectacle of the Year’ trophy; a year’s modelling contract with Assets Model Agency; Specsavers eye care voucher worth more than €200; a photography portfolio from Lili Forberg; €250 to spend in House of Fraser and entry into the grand final in London.
Doors for Big September and Hot Fuss are at 11pm.
