THE BLISTERING Ulster punk of Rural Savage, the post-punk energy of Trumpets Of Jericho, and the alternative rock of Fred and Bob are coming to Citóg.
Citóg takes place in The Cellar Bar, Eglinton Street, tomorrow night and the headliners will be Rural Savage. The band are two Donegalmen Farren McDonald (vocals/guitar/songwriter ) and Mosey Byrne (drums ), and Corkonian Hob Junker (bass ).
They released their debut album I Fell In A Bog And Saw God in February. Fearsomely fast rhythms and dirty sounding punk guitars (think Stiff Little Fingers, The Undertones, Rudi, Ruefrex, The Outcasts, etc, ) dominate, but there is also melodic indie, eccentric psychedelia, and even a Pink Floyd-esque ballad.
Fred and Bob are a Dublin quartet of three girls and one boy. Their influences include The Breeders, Sleater Kinney, and Blondie. They will be playing songs from their second EP, Anti-Gravity Love, which is out on June 22 as a free download from bandcamp.
Cork four piece Trumpets Of Jericho released their debut, Songs Like an Alum Ut Its Nor Really, earlier this year.
