Mary Coughlan releases new ‘best of’

IRELAND’S LEADING jazz and blues singer Mary Coughlan will release The Whole Affair: The Very Best of Mary Coughlan on Hail Mary Records tomorrow.

The Whole Affair is a double album, featuring 20 studio recordings from the albums Tired and Emotional (1985 ), Under The Influence (1987 ), Uncertain Pleasures (1990 ), Sentimental Killer (1992 ), After The Fall (1997 ), Mary Coughlan Sings Billie Holiday (2000 ), Long Honeymoon (2001 ), and The House Of Ill Repute (2008 ).

The second CD features various recordings of Mary live in concert between 1993 and 2012 and features the artist’s versions of such standards as ‘God Bless The Child’, ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’, and Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.

Mary returns to Galway to play two concerts in The Crane Bar on July 26 and 27.
