Liam Mellows are back in action this weekend when they face Carnmore (5pm ) on Sunday in the first round of the relegation games.
Mellows were defeated last weekend by St Thomas on a score-line of 1-19 to 1-13 and they will need to improve if they are to avoid becoming under real pressure in the relegation group.
Elsewhere Moycullen will enter the senior championship when they face Tommy Larkins in Athenry at 5pm on Saturday in Group A and that game will be followed at 6.30pm by Turloughmore and Sarfields in a group D clash.
The big news from last weekend saw the 2011 All-Ireland champions Clarinbridge crash out of the championship after being defeated by Mullagh, 1-14 to 1-9.
