THE ORIGINAL Rudeboys, the Dublin acoustic-hip hop band, are coming to Galway and will play the Róisín Dubh on Saturday May 26 at 9pm.
The Original Rudeboys - Sean ‘Neddy’ Arkins (vocals ), Robert Burch (guitar/vocals ) and Sean Walshy Walsh (ukulele ) - first came to attention via a series of YouTube clips which propelled them to cult status among young Irish music fans.
Viewing figures on their YouTube channel are now in excess of one million, an impressive feat given the band did not release a record until November last year. That record was their debut single, ‘Stars In My Eyes’ which peaked at No 3 on iTunes.
In March this year the band released their debut album, This Life, on Gotta Run Records through Rubyworks/PIAS. It features the singles ‘Stars In My Eyes’ and ‘Travelling Man’, as well as all new recordings of fan favourites ‘Sunny Days’ and ‘Bringing Me Down’.
