THE RIPTIDE Movement, whose debut album Keep On, Keepin’ On, is currently riding high in the Irish charts, play the Róisín Dubh tomorrow at 9pm.
The Dublin band - Mal Tuohy (vocals ), Ger McGarry (bass/harmonica ), JPR Dalton (lead guitar ), and Gar Byrne (drums ) - have been described by Hotpress as “a thrilling live proposition, that leaves crowds wondering how on earth they haven’t passed out!” while former Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell said they were “an awesome band, Hendrix himself would be shaking in his boots!”
The band’s debut album What About The Tip Jars? was released in 2009 and sold well. Their new album Keep On, Keepin’ On, sees the quartet explore swamp rock, prog-folk, power pop, and classic rock. The Riptide Movement are also a truly independent band – they are self-managed, self-produced, self-distributed, self-published, and are their own booking agent.
Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and www.roisindubh.net
