Racing with a difference takes place in Oughterard this weekend.
As a part of Oughterard GAA’s Lá na gClub, sheep will take over the club grounds in Corribdale Oughterard for an afternoon of racing.
The day will kick off with football blitzes for the u-8s and u-10s at 11.30am with the sheep racing kicking off at 1pm. There will be eight races on the card and small bets will be allowed.
Other attractions on the day are archery, pony rides, long puc, and spud picking, while Wizard Woo, the magician, will entertain the young and old. Facilities include a shop and barbecue.
It is expected to conclude the afternoon with a novelty event - the human/animal race at 3.20pm. Betting from this race will go towards Corribdale Trails funding.
