Yeats College hosts NUI Galway careers event

Yeats College hosted its inaugural NUI Galway careers event at a parent and student evening which took place at the college last week.

The event was structured to facilitate constructive engagement between parents, students, and educators with the objective of providing further clarity on the various courses which are available at NUI Galway.

Representatives from a variety of faculties were in attendance including the College of Arts, Social Science, and Celtic Studies; the College of Business, Public Policy, and Law; the College of Science; the College of Engineering and Informatics; and the College of Medicine.

Information was also available from ancillary departments covering admissions, scholarships, fees, and accommodation.

Yeats College principal Terry Fahy thanked NUI Galway for delivering a valuable information evening for students, parents, and teachers. He also acknowledged the strong relationship that exists between Yeats College and NUI Galway.

“Yeats College is delighted to be so warmly associated with NUI Galway and we are very proud that approximately 3,000 Yeats College alumni have graduated from the university,” Mr Fahy said. “As a graduate of UCG, I was particularly delighted to be hosting the NUI Galway event and I extend best wishes to all of the students who are about to embark on a most rewarding university experience. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and students of NUI Galway and in particular Celine O’Donovan, Caroline Loughnane, and Yvonne Keane for giving their time so generously.”

Yeats College is Ireland’s number one provider of students to Irish third level institutions. Last year the college was also Ireland’s leading provider of students to NUI Galway, with 84 students from the class of 2011 receiving a CAO offer to study at the university.
