John Sinclair and Howard Marks - Radical Rogues

JOHN SINCLAIR was manager of sixties proto-punk band The MC5 and a counter culture political activist about whom John Lennon wrote a song.

Howard Marks is a best-selling author, a former international drug trafficker, and all round roguish charmer, and raconteur.

The two are joining forces for a speaking tour, Radical Rogues on the Road - Breathin’ Air, which comes to the Róisín Dubh on Monday June 4 at 8pm. The event will see the men teaming up to share their fascinating and, at times, truly incredible stories with each other and the audience.

The two veteran raconteurs will delve into the haze of their era-shaping pasts, as Howard, a vigorous advocate for the legalisation of recreational drugs interviews John about his own lifelong activism and how he became a figurehead for the counterculture.

John will discuss his recent involvement with Meltdown festival curated by Massive Attack, the launch of the Music is Revolution Foundation, his part in the White Panther Party, managing The MC5, and sparking the legendary 1971 John Sinclair Freedom Rally.

Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and www.roisindubh.net
