Patricia Maloney, who 22 years ago founded the first private college to provide a repeat Leaving Certificate programme in the west of Ireland, has teamed up with a leading career training company to establish its first Galway city office.
“Patricia has been a pioneer and an innovator throughout her life in education. In 1990, she saw an opening for a private college in the west of Ireland, and established Park College,” said Sli Nua Careers proprietor Liam Horan, who runs the company’s Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, office. Patricia will operate the company’s Galway office at Drum East, Bushy Park.
“Park College’s success was built on the back of Patricia’s personal commitment to providing the very best education possible to over 2,500 students who passed through the college before its closure in 2008.
“During that time, Patricia developed an extremely wide range of skills that make her the ideal person to head our Galway office. She has in-depth knowledge of careers – from CVs to interviews, and possesses an expertise in assisting people to see their strengths so that they can fully realise their potential.”
Apart from being an accomplished careers and study skills advisor, she is also a third-level Accounting Tutor, and an experienced Accountancy and Business teacher to Leaving Cert. Higher Level students.
She is an Honours Graduate of Business Studies from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, an Honour Graduate from NUI Galway with a B. Comm, a. H. Dip. in Education, and a Bachelor of Law (LLB ).
“I am very excited about this opportunity to work directly with people who are looking for professional assistance with their careers,” said Ms Moloney.
