Titan Wheelers claimed a memorable victory in their last home game of the season over the Dundalk Ravens on Saturday.
The teams had traded score for score in the opening quarter, finishing eight points each before the Wheelers upped the intensity in the second quarter. With the home crowd behind them, Cian McLoughlin carved up the Ravens’ defence, grabbing six points on the trot to help his side lead 20-8 at the break.
The sides were evenly matched again in the third quarter with David Kennedy, Stephen Melvin and young Jack Colbert on target for the Wheelers, but the Ravens dug deep in the third, forcing the game into overtime with both sides tied 36- 36. Raven Keith McLoughlin nailed a big three-pointer to put the visitors one ahead, before young Jack Colbert produced the winning score with 26 seconds left on the clock.
