Athenry to have its own CoderDojo

The CoderDojo initiative, a movement of free computer coding clubs for those aged between seven and 17 wil be in Athenry on Saturday March 24.

The venue for Athenry is in the Gairmscoil Mhuire vocational school study hall. There will be an information session at 12 noon on the Saturday. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.

At a CoderDojo, young people learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programmes, games and more. Dojos are set up, run by, and taught at by volunteers. Dojos organise tours of technology companies, bring in guest speakers to talk about their career and what they do, and organise events.

Volunteers are also needed for the club and those interested can email [email protected]
