The new Oranmore Draft Area Plan is going on display later this month in the Oranmore Library, the Lackagh Area Office and County Buildings, Prospect Hill.
The plan will be on display for six weeks and Independent councillor Jim Cuddy is advising all residents and interested parties to view and make submissions on it.
“Many residents and landowners were not aware of when the last Oranmore Area Plan was being finalised,” he said, “and as a result some people had their land zoned without their knowledge.”
The four Oranmore councillors - Cllr Cuddy, Liam Carroll, Malachy Noone, and Jarlath McDonagh - have met to discuss the draft plan and planners from the Galway County Council hope to meet with groups affiliated to the community forum before the plan goes on public display.
