Mervue host Drogheda

Mervue United host premier division side Drogheda United at Fahy’s Field tomorrow evening (7.45pm ).

This is Mervue’s only pre-season warm-up game at home, having opened this series with a 1-0 defeat to premier division champions Shamrock Rovers at the Tallaght Stadium on Saturday evening.

It was a solid display from Johnny Glynn’s charges. A first-half strike from Gary O’Neill was the difference between the sides, and Glynn will be satisfied to have seen new signings Alan Murphy, Stephen Walsh, Gary Kelly, Ronan Forde, Michael McSweeney and Phillip Keegan make their club debuts in Saturday’s friendly.

Mervue’s u-9 team hosted city rivals Salthill Devon at Fahy’s Field on Tuesday evening in the second round of the Airtricity Enda McGuill Cup.
