Galway company, Lynx Transport, has been awarded a Good Distribution Practise (GDP ) Passport by the Irish Exporters Association Life Sciences Ireland. The accreditation, which ensures supply chain integrity and product safety from raw materials through to the end consumer, is gaining increased importance in Ireland and across the globe.
Established in 1985, the leading Irish owned company began its service offering with a daily Galway/Dublin delivery and collection service and is today one of the country’s most dynamic supply chain solution providers and strives to embrace best practice in the logistics and distribution industry.
The company’s headquarters, which is based in Oranmore, Co. Galway, consists of a modern 55,000sq ft distribution centre and employs 48 supply chain specialists. At present the company’s business portfolio takes it to Europe and beyond and provides a complete ‘one stop shop’ for the most seamless and cost effective route to market.
The award was presented by John Whelan, chief executive of the Irish Exporters Association, who welcomed the addition of Lynx Transport to the list of companies that have now attained GDP Passport accreditation. Mr Whelan said that Lynx Transport was now part of a select group in Ireland that have achieved a standard that is likely to become an essential requirement to deal with companies operating in the life sciences sector in the future.
Lynx provides its many clients across a wide variety of industrial sectors with a full range of supply chain solutions, including groupage distribution, 24 hour nationwide deliveries and collections, UK and European import/export services, specialist dedicated vehicles, warehousing, inventory management services and quality assurance.
