The next Coach Institute of Ireland one-year business, executive, and personal coach training programme will begin in Galway on Thursday and Friday, February 23 and 24. The programme will be facilitated two days a month from February to November, with a break during the summer months.
This one-year part-time highly experiential training programme will provide an opportunity for participants to enhance their professional skills as well as provide a great opportunity for personal development.
The training programme will cover communications skills, including active listening, paraphrasing, clarifying, summarising, and responding to the client’s frame of reference. Participants will have an opportunity to set goals for themselves, reflect on their values, and explore rational and irrational beliefs. Individuals will have the space to reflect on their leadership styles, to develop their intuition, to look at how they sabotage themselves, and will be afforded an opportunity to enhance emotional intelligence. In addition to exploring the above for themselves, participants will develop the skills to coach others both personally and professionally.
The programme is the only one in Ireland that is recognised by the worldwide coaching organisation the Association for Coaching. In addition the programme has been approved for continuous professional development credits for members of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
Programme leader, Evelyn P Gilmore, who is a work and organisational psychologist registered with the Psychological Society of Ireland, points out that participants need to be motivated to enhance their own level of self-awareness, as well as looking at how they can be more effective in their personal and professional lives.
This year the Coach Institute of Ireland is partnering with High Performance Start Up (HPSU ) Skillnet, and eligible organisations and/or individuals will qualify for a subsidy towards the cost of the coach training. Further information on funding eligibility and other aspects of the programme can be obtained from programme leader Evelyn P Gilmore on 091 861638 or 087 7944048, or visit www.coachinstitute.ie
