Inviting men and women to self-reflect

Men and women interested in pursuing a path towards enhancing their own emotional health and wellbeing are invited to apply to join an AnamAire therapeutic awareness group.

The Galway-based non-profit organisation, AnamAire, has on a weekly basis been providing affordable emotional support to men over the past three years in the form of professionally facilitated therapeutic awareness groups.

“Everyone in the community can benefit from further expanding their awareness and nurturing their emotional health,” said John Whelan, co-founder of AnamAire. “In building on the positive outcomes experienced by men who have availed of our groups to date, we are now delighted to extend this therapeutic service to also include women.” Mr Whelan also works in collaboration with other established agencies as a group facilitator and an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist.

The men’s group runs on Mondays from 7pm to 10pm. The new mixed group (for both men and women, in equal numbers ) will run on Sundays from 7pm to 10pm.

Whether in crisis or not, people (and men in particular ) can generally view seeking outside support for themselves as being some form of weakness. This is unfortunate as it actually takes inner strength and courage to identify and pursue what you need. Emotional wellbeing is not the absence of emotions but the ability to safely express them and use them to better inform your choices in life.

AnamAire also works with individuals and can be contacted on (091 ) 445555 or via [email protected]
