EAST 17, the boyband who scored 18 Top 20 hits throughout the 1990s have returned and will play Monroe’s Live on Thursday December 1 at 9pm.
East 17 are Tony Mortimer, John Hendy, Terry Coldwell, and new member Blair Dreelan. They are best known for the hits ‘Deep’, ‘Steam’, ‘Let It Rain’, ‘It’s Alright’, and ‘Stay Another Day’, which earned writer Tony Mortimer an Ivor Novello Award; as well as the duet with Gabrielle, ‘If You Ever’. The band ended in controversy in 1997 following a radio interview in which Harvey made some ill-judged remarks about drug taking.
However in 2011, East 17 have re-formed with new lead singer Blair Dreelan, who reached the latter stages of X Factor and penned the chart-topping ‘Shout For England’ for Dizzee Rascal. East 17’s new song ‘The House Of Love’ was also featured on T Mobile’s British royal wedding spoof commercial which garnered more than 20 million You Tube Clips in a couple of weeks.
