Road works at Briarhill will to lead to traffic reductions and “severe disruption” over the coming week.
From 10am to 4pm today, traffic will be reduced to one lane on the approach to the works at Briarhill from the Galway Clinic, to facilitate surfacing preparation works on this approach.
The Galway City Council’s Galway Transportation Unit has also warned motorists that “there will be severe disruption” at the Briarhill junction from Monday November 28 to Thursday December 1 from 7pm to 1am.
This is to facilitate surfacing of the junction and motorists are strongly advised to avoid the junction during these times, particularly those approaching from the Monivea Road.
However the GTU said the junction is still on target to open on Thursday December 8.
