THE TULCA festival, which begins today, will feature a range of workshops looking at issues like artist collectives, planning and local government, and a public art clinic.
Contemporary Artist Collectives: Tactics, Models and Imaginative Possibilities, a workshop with artist and writer Gregory Sholette takes place this Monday in Aras na Gael on Dominick Street. Vagabond Reviews’ Public Art Clinic Research in Public: Critical Co-ordinates at the Art-House-Café will happen in a temporary cultural space in a house at the Sliabh Bán housing estate in Ballybane on Monday November 14.
On Thursday November 17, Frances Whitehead will host The Embedded Artist Project: Strategies for Civic Engagement. What do Artists Know? This workshop, talk, and roundtable discussion aims to bring new perspectives, mindsets, and processes to planning a city’s future.
The event will have a particular focus on Galway and it takes place in The Huston School of Film and Digital Media in NUI Galway.
