A novel, but appropriate, fundraising initiative for young people’s support charity Jigsaw will take place next Thursday in Galway.
Jigsaw, the community-based help for young people's mental health needs, is teaming up with Avaya, formerly Nortel, to build a giant jigsaw at its Galway office on Fairgreen Road.
The giant jigsaw, which displays scenes from around Galway city and county, will be assembled in the Jigsaw office (the old Habitat building ) on Thursday (October 27 ) from 7pm to 9pm. The event is free and there will be entertainment and light refreshments for everyone to enjoy. Following the event, the giant jigsaw will decorate the Jigsaw Galway’s drop-in centre.
The employees of Avaya Galway have a long history of fundraising for local charities, including Abalta and Western Alzheimers, and this year they have chosen to work with Jigsaw Galway on a number of exciting fundraising challenges.
Jigsaw Galway is a free and confidential support service for young people, aged 15 to 25. The team of professionals provide information, listening, emotional support and guided self-help to young people going through tough times.
Poeple can donate on the night or go to www.mycharity.ie and search for Jigsaw Galway.
