A couple have appealed for the return of a handbag which was stolen from their car while parked outside the church in Ardrahan last week. The bag contained, among other items, an engagement ring.
The couple were attending a wedding in Ardrahan Church on Saturday October 15 when thieves targeted two cars parked outside. Three cars were broken into between 2.30pm and 3.20pm that day. The couple’s car, a Volkswagen Golf Prius, was among those burgled, with the driver’s window smashed and the woman’s handbag stolen from the vehicle.
The stolen bag was a brown leather handbag with a chain and contained a number of personal effects including a new iPad2 inside a red cover, a purse containing credit cards, and the woman’s engagement ring. The cards have been cancelled and the iPad can be traced, but the engagement ring is irreplaceable.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the handbag or its contents is asked to contact Ardrahan Garda Station at (091 ) 635102 or Galway Garda Station at (091 ) 538000.
