WEEE Ireland (Waste, Electrical and Electronic Equipment ), the Irish compliance scheme for electrical and battery recycling, will hold a series of WEEE Wagon collection events across Galway County throughout October.
The WEEE Wagon will be in the following locations next week: October 18 – GAA Pitch, Williamstown, 10am-1pm; October 18 – GAA Pitch, Glenamaddy, 4pm-7pm; October 20 – McDonagh’s Supermarket car park, Kilkerrin, 10am-1pm; and October 20 – Pearse’s GAA Pitch, car park, Rosmuc, 4pm-7pm.
New WEEE Wagon events also have been scheduled for Derrynea, Leitir Mór, Spiddal and Barna. For full details of all event locations and times please log on to www.recyclefree.ie
Anything in the home with a battery or a plug can be recycled at WEEE Wagon days. Consumers of electrical items are entitled to bring their waste electrical equipment to their lectrical retailer when purchasing an item of similar type. Waste batteries can be taken to any battery retailer that sells similar batteries, even if they consumers do not purchase anything. All WEEE and waste batteries can also be brought to a local civic amenity site free of charge.
