John Behan rugby sculpture up for charity auction

Rugby has taken centre stage in Ireland recently with the exploits of the Irish team at the World Cup in New Zealand, and for those who would like a permanent reminder of the intensity of the game, a special John Behan sculpture will be auctioned this weekend.

John Behan's recent sculpture in bronze, "Diving for the Line", expresses the beauty and intensity of the game of rugby. It will be auctioned for the Galway medical charity Irish Friends of Albania at its Charity Ball on Saturday, October 15 at the Radisson Hotel.

The auction is open to all, and anyone who wishes to bid for the sculpture may come along to the ballroom at 10.30pm to take part, or may bid by telephone by calling a designated number. The auction will take place after dinner at 10.30pm.

The sculpture can be viewed every day at Irish Friends of Albania, 15 University Road., Galway. Those wishing to bid can arrange to do so by calling the charity on 091 585568 or 086 3958589.
