Familes wanted to host children from Belarus

Local charity, Camp Claddagh, has launched its annual drive to recruit new host families to support its rest and recuperation programme for children from Belarus.

To date Camp Claddagh has hosted some 200 children and is again looking forward to continuing this programme for the summer of 2012.

This year 30 children visited Galway for the month of July, which is believed to add an estimated two years of healthy living to their lives.

The children will stay in pairs, with two separate families, over that period. One family will host two children for the first part of the holiday (approximately two weeks ) and then the children move to a second host family for the latter part of their holiday.

Families willing to open their homes to children from Belarus can contact group leader Fiona Conneely 087-2096374 or 091-574074, [email protected], www.campcladdagh.com or email [email protected].

Camp Claddagh is the Galway branch of the Adi Roche-founded charity, Chernobyl Children International.
