THE MUSIC of Vivaldi, Bach, and Tchaikovsky will be heard in the Town Hall Theatre, when The Russian Chamber Orchestra make their Galway debut on Wednesday at 8pm.
The programme for the evening includes Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, pieces from Bach’s Suite in D major, Grieg’s Holberg Suite, Elgar’s Serenade for Strings E minor, Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Tchaikovsky’s ‘Andante Cantabile’ and the waltz from ‘Serenade for Strings’, Albeniz’s ‘Tango’, and Garner’s ‘Misty’.
The Russian Chamber Orchestra was founded in December 2001 by the internationally acclaimed trumpet player and conductor Sergey Proskourin.
During the years of performing the orchestra has had several international concert tours: Tunisia (2002 ), Sweden (2003 ), the USA (2004 ), Germany (2003, 2005 ). The orchestra was honoured with title of a laureate at the 17th International Festival of Classical Music in El Gem (Tunisia ).
