The Pale are coming to The Quays

DUBLIN’S LONG serving duo The Pale play The Quays on Friday November 21 at 8.30pm as part of the series of gigs to raise funds for Cancer Care West.

Formed in 1990, The Pale’s sound of vocal, mandolin, and drum machine was unusual. Songs such as ‘Dogs With No Tales’ and ‘Moon Moon’ gained them popularity in Ireland and cult attention in Britain (one of their songs even featured on an episode of Emmerdale! ).

Things have quietened down since those heady days but today the band are enjoying a new lease.

In 2001 Turkish Ska band Athena released a version of ‘Dogs With No Tails’ which became a hit for a second time in Turkey. The Pale have released the single ‘Chocolate Factory/Lady Gregory’, as a free download from www.thepale.ie and in limited CD format through www.1969records.com.

The single is taken from the forthcoming Pale album Proper Order, which is due for release in the New Year.

Support on the night is from Shane Barry and The Distractions. Their single ‘Stop’ is out now.
