Eat launches at Massimo

Eat, the new gastropub experience, will launch this week at Massimo on William Street.

The people who brought you Cava Spanish restaurant and tapas bar and Aniar restaurant, JP McMahon and Drigin Gaffey, launch Eat in one of Galway’s best known West End pubs, Massimo.

The menu features pub food old reliables with a gourmet flair. Highlights include gastro pizzas featuring Irish cheeses such as roast potato, caramelised onion, and Wicklow Blue cheese, hunger busters such as Eat signature dishes of Brendan’s 5oz stout burger, and creative vegetarian and fresh fish dishes. Following the Cava and Aniar philosophy locally sourced and seasonal ingredients feature strongly.

“We’re delighted JP and Drigin will be heading up the kitchen and food service at Massimo and we welcome the launch of Eat,” said Simon Heaslip of Massimo. “Our regulars will no doubt be delighted with this news and we look forward to welcoming new customers.”

Serving lunch, including gourmet soup and sourdough sandwiches, from 12 noon, and dinner from 6pm, Eat will also serve hearty brunches on Sundays with live jazz starting October 23. Children are catered for with special children’s menu, while groups can enjoy platters to share.

All are invited to attend a special launch party this Friday October 14 starting at 7pm. Sample the menu and enjoy soulfood tunes by Shane Dooley followed by Shake! with Ray and Aran until late.
