“IAN D Montfort is a spookily skilful, wonderfully observed, and hysterically funny character who contacts dead celebrities with incredible results.”
So said Time Out London in a five star review of the psychic comic (a creation of the brilliant English comedian Tom Binns ), who plays Monroe’s Backstage Bar, on Saturday October 29 and Sunday 30 at 8.30pm as part of the Bulmer’s Galway Comedy Festival.
Tom Binns’ Ian D Montfort is a hysterically funny spirit medium who contacts the dead with faintly inexplicable clairvoyant revelations, leaving the audience gasping with incredulity and laughter.
The show has attracted rave reviews. The Independent said the show mixes “eerily good cold-reading skills with a joyful debunking of the genre”. The Guardian said: “It is two shows for the price of one - pin-sharp character comedy and metaphysical magic to boot.” The Edinburgh Review declared it “a spectacular tour-de-force, showcasing Binns’ exceptional acting and comedic talent”.
